Winter, particularly a snowy one like this, means outdoor stuff that makes living in an arctic place tolerable. It also means the start of another form of fun, January Jams—Sunday afternoons of music, dancing and general merriment at Upper Jay’s Recovery Lounge, aka Upper Jay Upholstery. You never know who’ll take the stage … a certain Monsterbuck member on the keys, the hamlet’s postmaster singing a cappella, maybe ukelele strummers, classical clarinetists, Gospel singers, drum kit soloists, Dead Head devotees, folk families, you name it. Bring an instrument, a friend, good vibes and join the fun, beginning January 6 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. For details check out the Upper Jay Art Center’s website or call (518) 946-8315. See “In Recovery” from our October 2008 issue to learn more about the Upper Jay Art Center.
