Green Thumb Perennial Swap
Bring your plants in any size or shape container, and exchange for ones of equal size or value. If you are just starting your garden, we will share and hopefully answer any questions you may have regarding your soil and light conditions, hardiness zone and possible microclimate. Master Gardeners from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren County will be on hand to test the pH of your soil and provide informational handouts on various gardening topics and reference materials to help identify any mystery species. 8 a.m. - Noon.

Loons and Logs Day
Celebrate two Adirondack icons–the Common Loon and Logging. The event will include hands-on programs about loons, logging and log drives in the Adirondacks, and an exploration of human and natural history tied to Huntington Wildlife Forest. It will also be the first time in 80 years that the newly restored Beaver guideboat will be back in Rich Lake! The day-long event will conclude with a Loon Race fundraising event for the whole family.

Herbert K. Clark Memorial Stone Ceremony
We invite you to join the Adirondack Forty-Sixers , the Clark family, and the residents of Saranac Lake to honor Herbert K. Clark by placing a memorial stone to laud his achievement as Adirondack forty-sixer #1 at his gravesite. The ceremony will be at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake. In case of rain the ceremony will be held at the Cantwell room at the Saranac Lake Free Library. This event will take place at 10:00 a.m. There will be a short ceremony and presentations’ of replica climbing certificates to all the grandchildren and the unveiling of the memorial stone.

March to the beat of Fort Ticonderoga’s Fife and Drum Corps and step back in time to look at the soldiers of the American Revolution. Great Adirondack Birding Celebration
The event features field trips to boreal birding hot spots, informative lectures, workshops, a raffle, social hours and more. Register in advance. Some of the boreal species that participants in the Great Adirondack Birding Celebration hope to find include the Black-backed Woodpecker, American Three-toed Woodpecker, Boreal Chickadee, Spruce Grouse, Bicknell's Thrush, and a variety of migrating warblers. The 3,000-acre Paul Smiths VIC contains every habitat type found in the Adirondack Park with the exception of alpine vegetation. Included on the property is a 60-acre marsh, five ponds, several brooks and swamps, bogs, fens, and varied forest types, most notably northern boreal forest. Planning and Planting a Medical Herb Garden
Join local herbalist Nancy Scarzello for a hands-on demo as we plan and plant our herb garden for this year’s growing season. We’ll cover plant placement and how to choose perennial, biennial and annual herbs. Learn which plants do best from seed, how to make divisions, retail sources for herb seeds and plants, and everything we do to give our herb garden a fresh start for a new season. Help to revamp this year’s King’s Garden while getting a jump on your own with extra “volunteers” and divisions to be taken home.
